About LELY

‘Broedplaats’ LELY is located in the former Calvijn College. It’s an iconic building in Amsterdam, designed by Ben Ingwersen. LELY offers 47 living spaces and 30 workplaces. A place where artists can let their ideas flow and unfold. Where entrepreneurs can create a solid base for their business. Where international artists and refugees with a residence status are able to settle. Furthermore, it is a place where cultural programs are developed.

The beautiful atrium of the building offers space for lectures, exhibitions, performances and more. With tenants such as Dood Paard and ISH Dance Collective LELY is a fundamental part of the city.

The Nieuw-West district has designated the school building and the gym at Schipluidenlaan 10 and 12 as a municipal monument. With the monument status, buildings are well protected from developments.
